About the position
Babylist is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Fulfillment and Operations Engineering team. This role involves leading business critical projects to expand Babylist's fulfillment capabilities and making important decisions regarding system growth and scalability. The ideal candidate is a high-performing engineer with experience delivering end-to-end solutions that drive business growth. They should thrive in a fast-growing environment and have experience testing, monitoring, and running production software systems. Ruby on Rails experience is required, and past experience in e-commerce fulfillment or supply chain is a plus. The Senior Software Engineer will have the opportunity to build systems that will scale Babylist's supply chain and mentor junior team members.
Responsibilities
- Lead business critical projects to expand Babylist's fulfillment capabilities
- Make important decisions about how Babylist's systems grow and scale
- Test, monitor, and run a production software system
- Continuously grow skills in software engineering
- Develop and improve Ruby on Rails programming skills
- Contribute to the growth and scalability of Babylist's supply chain services
- Collaborate with the Product team to create new features in the supply chain
- Mentor junior team members through design and architecture planning, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions
- Thrive in a fast-growing environment
- Passionate about further growing skills and capabilities of engineers
Requirements
- Experience delivering end to end solutions that drive business growth
- Thrives in a quickly growing environment and can lead business critical projects
- Experience testing, monitoring, and running a production software system
- Skilled programmer with Ruby on Rails experience
- Past experience in e-commerce fulfillment or supply chain is a plus
- Ability to build systems that can scale to $500M in revenue and beyond
- Subject matter expert in supply chain services
- Collaborates with Product team to create new features in supply chain
- Mentors junior team members and helps grow their skills
- Experience working in small/medium sized startups is a plus
- Passionate about further growing skills and capabilities of engineers
