Senior Software Engineer

Segmed is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their Engineering team. In this role, you will work closely with the CTO, Project Manager, and Product Team to become a subject matter expert in their Data Pipeline Product. Your main responsibility will be to design and build a robust product and infrastructure that prioritizes data security. This is a highly visible role that offers great opportunities for learning and becoming an expert in a fast-growing startup.

• Designing and developing services capable of handling large amounts of data
• Writing clean and maintainable code and continuously improving code through refactoring
• Monitoring application performance and resolving system failures
• Writing Terraform configurations and Ansible playbooks to maintain systems
• Deploying and supporting applications built on Kubernetes
• Assisting with other ad hoc responsibilities to support company objectives
• Having 5+ years of experience in Backend Development
• Having 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes
• Having 2+ years of experience with AWS
• Having 1+ years of experience with Terraform and Ansible
• Having solid experience with Golang and Python
• Having a good understanding of SOLID principles, common design patterns, and best practices
• Having solid experience with PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and optimization
• Having experience with complicated system architecture involving API linkage with external systems
• Having experience with application performance monitoring and optimization
• Having experience with CI/CD
• Having good English communication skills
• Having a strong sense of ownership
• Being well-organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Being comfortable working with internal and external resources across different time zones
• Enjoying and being able to work remotely
• Having a BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar field (optional)
• Having knowledge of healthcare ecosystems and medical and research partnerships (optional)
• Having knowledge of HIPAA and GDPR regulations (optional)
