About The Position

This role is fundamentally a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) position, requiring deep software development expertise, hands-on coding in JavaScript, TypeScript, and/or C#, and working knowledge of SQL. The position is responsible for establishing and owning automated quality engineering capabilities supporting the long-term success of the SPM Cloud platform. Initially, the role will learn the platform's testing framework, release processes, validation approaches, and quality controls while helping prepare STERIS to assume operational ownership. As the platform transitions to an internally managed product, the position will define and execute the automated testing strategy, quality governance framework, release assurance processes, test automation architecture, and quality engineering standards. It will contribute to software quality, reliability, scalability, and delivery excellence across future platform initiatives. The posting describes the role as remote, with a preference for candidates in EST or CST time zones; it also notes a Vernon Hills, Illinois location and a hybrid work opportunity, with candidates within commuting distance preferred. The posted pay range is $108,000–$125,000, and the position is eligible for bonus participation. STERIS describes itself as a global provider of products and services supporting patient care, infection prevention, and healthcare and life sciences.
