Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
About The Position
Scalepex is seeking an experienced, hands-on QA automation professional for a remote opportunity in digital healthcare technology. The role focuses on API testing, UI automation, and scalable testing frameworks while collaborating with an engineering team developing healthcare technology solutions using HL7 FHIR APIs and electronic health record (EHR) data. This is described as an immediate opening. The SDET designs and maintains automated testing frameworks, develops and executes multiple types of tests, and works with engineering, product, DevOps, and security teams to improve software quality and compliance. The role includes ensuring end-to-end test coverage, validating API functionality and data integrity, and integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in software quality assurance and test automation.
- Hands-on experience with automated API and UI testing.
- Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and SDLC best practices.
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience testing commercial web applications and complex data integrations.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed teams.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks for web applications and APIs.

- Develop test plans, test cases, and automation strategies.
- Ensure end-to-end testing coverage across multiple applications.
- Identify, troubleshoot, document, and track software defects.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Partner with DevOps, engineering, and security teams to improve software quality and compliance.
- Validate API functionality, data integrity, application performance, and reliability.
- Evaluate and implement new testing tools and best practices.
