About The Position

The Edge OS family is responsible for developing an operating system and services that enable the remote management of Cloudlink devices, which are used to deploy Genetec’s next generation of physical security software to our clients. Your goal will be to deliver features related to device lifecycle management (enrollment, updates, etc.), application deployment, and observability of devices in the field. We work with cutting-edge technologies at the intersection of IoT, embedded systems, and the Cloud to provide solutions that simplify our clients’ operations. In a spirit of collaboration, we also deliver key services for Genetec’s application developers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with a modern object-oriented programming language.
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators and customers)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of C#/.NET, Go, Rust
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with IoT technologies and remote fleet management
  • Experience with messaging protocols (AMQP, MQTT, etc.)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration engines (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience in web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React)
  • Experience in Cloud development within a CI/CD environment

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the analysis, design, and implementation of new features for a modern connected-device management platform
  • Have quality assurance in mind by respecting the good practices reliées to automated tests and their integration in the software development cycle
  • Contribute to the estimation of the effort of the tasks and the management of the time to deliver the solutions according to the expectations
  • Collaborate with your team leader to obtain high-level directions and objectives related to the vision of the product and the priorities to respect
  • Work with the various stakeholders, such as technical managers, architects and developers of other teams
