About The Position

We are looking for passionate software developers with a range of experience—from talented newcomers to seasoned professionals—to join one of our engineering teams. You'll be part of the team responsible for developing the embedded software powering Genetec's Physical Access Control appliances, including Genetec Cloudlink. Working primarily with Go, you will build reliable edge applications that enable secure communication, device integration, and real-time interactions between access control hardware and Genetec's Security Center platform.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Open to all levels of experience, from junior to senior
  • Comfortable working on complex software that interacts with physical devices and real-world systems
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment and tackle challenging technical problems
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators and customers)
  • Experience with Go or a strong interest in developing production software using Go
  • Experience developing reliable software for embedded systems, edge applications, or distributed systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and messaging technologies such as Azure Event Hubs and Azure Service Bus
  • Experience troubleshooting and working with hardware components, sensors, or connected physical devices
  • Understanding of common software engineering practices, including observability, logging, monitoring, and performance analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures is an asset
  • Familiarity with cloud-native technologies, containers, or Kubernetes is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain reliable, embedded software and edge applications using Go
  • Develop firmware that enables responsive real-time access control decisions for enterprise customers
  • Build reliable solutions for device management, monitoring, diagnostics, and remote operation of Genetec appliances
  • Collaborate with developers, product teams, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decision-making
  • Own software throughout its lifecycle, from design and development to deployment, observability, maintenance, and continuous improvement
