AHEAD is seeking a senior engineer to build Hatch, its platform for IT lifecycle management, renewal, procurement, and logistics. Hatch gives enterprises visibility and control over IT assets, orders, contracts, and inventory across many sites; its sibling platform, Unity, supports AHEAD’s internal operations and service delivery. The role joins a product-focused engineering team that builds and ships software, adopts new tools, and values autonomy and sound engineering judgment. The engineer will own meaningful problems end to end, from understanding user and business needs through design, implementation, delivery, and production support. They will create full-stack solutions for internal and public web applications, make pragmatic architectural decisions, and remain accountable for quality. The current stack is Elixir and Phoenix, but prior experience with those technologies is not required; adaptability and the ability to learn new languages and frameworks are emphasized. AHEAD expects engineers to use AI tools and coding agents to accelerate routine work while applying human judgment to problem framing, architecture, product decisions, security, edge cases, and correctness. Engineers are expected to review, test, and harden AI-assisted work and help improve the team’s AI tooling and workflows. The role also contributes to code quality, mentoring, project planning, and the engineering team’s future roadmap.
