About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Senior Software Developer to build and support software solutions in a secure, mission-focused environment at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The role involves developing web applications and supporting modernization of legacy workflows. Remote or hybrid work may be allowed, but the position may change to 100% on-site based on customer needs. Candidates must live within one hour of the base or be willing to relocate to the area before starting. Facility credentials/authorization are required, and U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain them at this work location. The position requires a related technical bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of software development experience, including Java development and code testing. The developer will work with SQL, Wicket, relational databases, build and configuration-management tools, and contribute to design documentation, demonstrations, and status reporting. The role is otherwise sedentary, with sitting most of the time and occasional walking or standing; it requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. The stated compensation range is $110,000–$115,000. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
At least 10 years of software development experience.
At least 10 years of Java development experience, including unit and integration testing of code.
Experience with Wicket, relational databases, and SQL.
Experience with build tools such as Ant and Maven.
Experience with configuration-management tools such as Git and BitBucket.
Live within one hour of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base or be willing to relocate to the area before the start date.
Be able and willing to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization; U.S. citizenship is required for credentials/authorization at this work location.

Nice To Haves

Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
Experience with SQL Service and IntelliJ.
Good oral and written communication skills, with experience delivering or presenting to the customer.
Experience with API calls.
Mobile development experience.

Responsibilities

Assist with designing, developing, and engineering software solutions using SQL stored queries, procedures, functions, views, and triggers, as well as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Java for web development.
Support software development and communicate weekly status reports.
Assist with demonstrations of code and contribute to other team efforts as required.
Assist with developing production design requirements and Software Design Documents (SDDs).
