About The Position

OCTO is looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing solutions within the ServiceNow platform. The role involves maintaining and performing continual service improvements on implemented modules including ITSM, ITFM, HRSD, ITOM, PPM, and SPM. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions, build requested items and tasks using workflows, and document functional business requirements, process flows, and business use cases. Responsibilities also include performing operational administrative tasks, assisting with report configuration and maintenance, and configuring and maintaining data integrations between ServiceNow and other systems. The role requires designing/developing ServiceNow Forms and Tables, Modules, Workflows/Flow Designs, and configuring Business Rules, UI Policies, UI Actions, Client Scripts, ACLs, Notifications, UI Pages, UI Macros, and Script Includes, including advanced scripting for CMS/Service Portal. The developer must ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, agency security guidelines, and governance policies, aiming to maintain an out-of-the-box environment. Additionally, the role involves performing code reviews, mentoring junior developers, staying updated on ServiceNow releases and industry trends, and identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow development of the modules listed above.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of implementing ServiceNow Architecture and ServiceNow Scripting.
  • Experience creating ServiceNow update sets, promoting and testing through multiple instances and into production.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of service management processes, procedures, and software, and including knowledge of ServiceNow.

Nice To Haves

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) or Certified Implementation Specialist(CIS) certification highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, enhances, debugs, and implements software.

  • Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on development team.
  • Participates in development of software user manuals.
