About The Position

DRW is seeking a Senior Service Reliability Engineer to join its Container Infrastructure team. The team provides scalable on-premises and cloud-based container orchestration services for trading desks, data scientists, and enterprise application teams. The Kubernetes platform includes hundreds of clusters, thousands of nodes, and dozens of components. The role works closely with other teams and trading desks to maintain the platform’s performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, and to help internal customers deploy applications successfully.

Requirements

Experience working with or administering Kubernetes clusters.
Knowledge of networking, storage, and containerization fundamentals.
Familiarity with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform.
A service-focused attitude, with a willingness to ask questions and find appropriate resources and solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work across teams and have evidence-based discussions about technical and operational topics.
Eagerness to learn, collaborate, and find solutions under interesting constraints.

Nice To Haves

Experience with common Kubernetes operators, such as Flux, Fluentbit, Fluentd, and Prometheus.
Experience administering on-premises infrastructure.
Experience developing, deploying, and supporting full-stack web applications.
Experience with multiple programming languages in both greenfield development and legacy maintenance.

Responsibilities

Work with business units to onboard and deploy applications into DRW’s Kubernetes platform.
Administer the Kubernetes platform and work with internal customers and infrastructure stakeholders to keep it reliable, performant, and cost-effective.
Automate repetitive manual tasks.
Provide customer service to platform users.
Develop new platform components and features.
Monitor costs and help optimize compute consumption for each trading desk.
