About The Position

Karsh Hagan Madden is an independent marketing agency formed through the strategic partnership of Karsh Hagan and Madden Media. By blending bold creative storytelling with high-performing media, PR, GEO, and data-driven strategy, the agency helps ambitious brands close the gap between how they are seen and how they are felt-building genuine connections through moments that move people, brands, and places forward. In this role, you will independently develop strategic SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) plans that drive measurable results. You'll translate complex data into actionable, high-level insights and collaborate regularly across teams to ensure our brand and clients are positioned as the authoritative answers within both traditional search engines and emerging AI answer engines. With a strong focus on quality and reliability, you consistently deliver work on time while clearly communicating your findings and recommendations to both internal stakeholders and client teams.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of hands-on SEO experience with a strong focus on technical SEO.
  • Proven experience with Drupal SEO implementation.
  • Advanced proficiency with leading SEO and analytics tools.
  • Understanding of LLM mechanics: Familiarity with how training-based, search-based, and hybrid AI engines discover, evaluate, and synthesize web content.
  • Advanced Schema & Semantic SEO expertise: Strong proficiency in understanding structured data (FAQPage, HowTo, and Author schema markups) to improve machine-readability.
  • Commitment to E-E-A-T & Trustworthiness: Proven track record of optimizing brand footprints beyond the primary domain (e.g., user-generated content platforms, digital PR, third-party authoritative citations) to feed the AI knowledge graph.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to and influence clients at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to coach and guide others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical SEO & GEO audits: Implement on-site optimizations, structural schema adjustments, and technical configurations (e.g., managing robots.txt and server-side rendering) to ensure content is fully accessible and extractable for AI crawlers. Website CMS frequently used are WordPress and Drupal.
  • Optimize content for AI: Partner with content teams to structure data using answer-first formats, conversational Q&A blocks, expert attributions, and deeply researched statistics that optimize for Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) models.
  • Use advanced tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and emerging AI visibility tracking platforms) to analyze multi-modal performance and identify opportunities.
  • Track "Share of Model" (SoM) metrics: Transition standard reporting to include tracking brand mentions, citation frequencies, and visibility across leading LLMs (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) alongside traditional organic keyword rankings.
  • Build, present, and explain strategies and results directly to clients in a clear, confident, and compelling way.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (content, web development, analytics, paid media) to align SEO initiatives with broader marketing goals.
  • Manage projects from kickoff to delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Mentor and support junior team members to build their SEO expertise.
