About The Position

The Senior Scientist, New Product Development develops and commercializes sample preparation, biologic characterization, magnetic bead, chromatography, and LC-MS/MS solutions. The role focuses on sample preparation consumables, chromatography products, LC-MS/MS methods, and magnetic bead workflows for biopharma, clinical, and broader applied-market needs. The scientist identifies workflow challenges and translates customer, market, and business needs into practical R&D opportunities and innovative solutions. The position requires method and workflow design, optimization, and validation across analytes, complex molecules, biological matrices, and therapeutic modalities, with emphasis on recovery, matrix-effect reduction, reproducibility, and LC-MS/MS compatibility. The role collaborates with cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects, transfer technology, resolve technical issues, and deliver products on time. It also involves reviewing literature, conducting experiments, analyzing and presenting data, preparing technical materials, publishing findings, and supporting patent filings. The position reports to the Senior R&D Manager, New Product Development, and is part of the Research and Development Department in Torrance, California. This is an on-site role.
