About The Position

Parsons is seeking a talented Senior Scheduler to work on a premier Infrastructure project, the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project. This role requires proficiency in Oracle/Primavera Project Management (P6) and a strong understanding of heavy civil infrastructure, tunneling, and/or light rail construction. The Gateway Program is a critical national infrastructure initiative focused on improving rail services, enhancing resiliency, and creating new capacity between Newark, NJ, and New York City. The first phase, the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), involves constructing a new tunnel under the Hudson River and rehabilitating the existing North River Tunnel. The Gateway Development Commission (GDC) oversees this project.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
  • 8+ years of related construction scheduling work experience.
  • Experience with self-performing construction activities for heavy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience with Primavera Scheduling Software (P6).
  • Change orders and claims management experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience performing or leading project controls for mid ($50M+) to large ($500M+) capital construction projects, programs, and/or portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed engineering and construction critical path method (CPM) baseline project schedule(s) using Primavera, incorporating input from estimating and contract documents.
  • Resource and cost load project baseline schedules.
  • Develop baseline and updated cashflow charts and data.
  • Update and maintain the project schedule at regular intervals, identifying and recording the impact of work performed or not performed.
  • Collect actual dates and quantities installed via field records, progress data, and visual inspection.
  • Update and maintain actual costs/resources, inputting data consistent with project invoicing.
  • Support management through preparation and maintenance of forecasts and schedules.
  • Draft construction network diagrams for specific areas.
  • Interface with other departments to provide scheduling/cost data for change requests, bid comparisons, new work item estimates, and problem resolution.
  • Provide supervision and/or on-the-job training to clerical and entry-level professional personnel.
  • Develop preliminary and/or detailed schedules for estimates and bids.
  • Manage change orders and claims.
  • Coordinate with project teams to analyze delays and impacts and assist in developing recovery schedules.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
