About The Position

Parsons is seeking a talented Senior Inspections Manager to join the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project, a premier infrastructure initiative in the US. The Gateway Program is a critical set of rail investments aimed at improving commuter and intercity services, enhancing resiliency, and creating new capacity between Newark, NJ, and New York City. The first phase, the Hudson Tunnel Project (HTP), involves constructing a new tunnel under the Hudson River and rehabilitating the existing North River Tunnel. The Inspections Manager will lead a team of construction inspectors, ensuring efficient and consistent inspection services that comply with project specifications, safety regulations, and all applicable requirements. This role is based in Secaucus, NJ, and is a full-time, onsite position focused on quality, safety, and efficiency for a rail-related transportation project.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of heavy highway, bridge, and roadway construction inspection experience.
  • At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proficiency with project documentation software.
  • Ability to read complex engineering plans and contract documents.
  • High school diploma.
  • Amtrak Contractor training and certification will be required to work on the project.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, mentor, and provide technical guidance to construction inspection team.
  • Conduct field visits and QA/QC reviews of inspection staff.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with contract plans, specifications, standards, permits and applicable codes.
  • Review inspector documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Coordinate with inspection staff, RE, contractors, utility companies and other stakeholders to resolve field issues.
  • Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or construction risks.
  • Promote consistent use of all required safety practices and quality standards.
  • Support project close-out activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and record documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
