About The Position

The Senior Planner / Scheduler is a critical member of Archaea’s Project Controls organization, responsible for planning, scheduling, forecasting, and performance reporting across a ~$200 million development capital portfolio consisting of 9-12 concurrent projects spanning FEL 1 through execution and commissioning. Reporting to the VP of Performance Management, in Archaea’s Finance function, this role owns the integrated portfolio master schedule and project-level Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules, providing schedule assurance, forecasting, and executive reporting that enable predictable project delivery, capital deployment, cashflow, and accrual forecasting. Working closely with Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Finance, and EPC contractors, the Senior Planner / Scheduler develops and maintains Primavera P6 (Oracle Primavera Cloud) schedules, integrates contractor schedules into the portfolio master schedule, performs critical path and schedule risk analysis, and translates schedule performance into actionable insights for project and executive leadership. The role also leads portfolio schedule reporting and dashboard development through Domo dashboards, ensuring consistent and transparent performance measurement across Archaea’s development program. This role is based in Houston, Texas.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of relevant professional experience (within the Chemical / Petrochemical / Industrial / Refining / Production Areas) in Project Management or Project Controls
  • Self-starter and takes the initiative. Also exhibits extreme ownership in their own products and deliverables.
  • At least 5 years of advanced Primavera P6 experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules, managing baselines, forecasting schedule performance, performing critical path analysis, measuring progress and integrating contractor schedules.
  • Strong analytical capability linking schedule performance to capital forecasting, earned value metrics, and executive portfolio reporting.
  • Advanced maturity and discretion in handling confidential and secure information
  • “Can do” attitude as a key team member with flexibility, enthusiasm, reliability, and discretion.
  • Ability to prioritize, liaise well with others, and remain calm to manage multiple demands and cope with change.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Project Managers, Project Control, Engineering Leads, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Operations team members.
  • Function as the main point of contact for all day-to-day project planning related activity, schedule performance management and reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and ensure the integrity of integrated CPM schedules across 9-12 concurrent projects spanning FEL 1 through execution and commissioning
  • May provide oversight to Contractor Engineering Home Office and Site Contractor Planning Teams
  • Use performance data to provide timely project insights to project leadership team.
  • Apply schedule controls policies, procedures, processes, guidelines, tools, and templates.
  • Maintain compliance with Archaea’s Project Stage Gate Guidelines.
  • Ensure the development of standardized project schedules, with appropriate allowance, based upon stage gate authorization.
  • Maintain schedule logic, work breakdown structures, baselines, progress measurement methodologies, and schedule forecasting processes within Primavera 6
  • Perform critical path analysis, schedule variance analysis, and schedule risk assessments to identify threats, opportunities, and recovery actions.
  • Provide relevant & specific expertise to diagnose, investigate & overcome problems.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor the overall portfolio schedule.
  • Develop and maintain schedule contingency drawdown strategy and reporting.
  • Identify risks / schedule threats and opportunities to improve schedule.
  • Develop and issue progress reports and forecasts to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop / Maintain stage gate deliverables related to schedules.
  • Support the project benchmarking process and facilitate preparation for aspects associated with schedule.
  • Make schedule performance information easily accessible.
  • Provide leadership with forward-looking information identifying expected project schedule performance and comparisons against approved targets.
  • Review, challenge, and integrate contractor schedules into the portfolio master schedule, ensuring alignment with project objectives and reporting requirements.
