Senior Scheduler

E-Space•Arlington, TX

About The Position

E-Space is seeking a Senior Scheduler to own the planning and scheduling function for its U.S. Government programs. This role involves defining the scheduling standard, building the toolchain and templates, establishing control processes, and managing the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for the program portfolio. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in space program scheduling, including building and defending IMS on satellite, payload, or ground systems development programs, and will have direct authority over scheduling methodology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 10+ years of program scheduling, planning, or project controls experience, with a substantial majority in the space industry — satellite, spacecraft, payload, launch, or ground segment development programs.
  • Demonstrated ownership of an IMS on at least one major space development program, from initial build through baseline through execution and delivery.
  • Track record of defining and rolling out scheduling process, standards, or tooling across an organization.
  • Expert-level Microsoft Project proficiency: master/subproject architectures, external dependencies, resource pools, custom fields and formulas, reporting views, and baseline management.
  • Deep command of schedule logic, critical path method, float and margin management, and network analysis.
  • Fluency with schedule health assessment methodology.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Government contract types (FFP, CPFF, CPIF, OTA) and how contract structure drives schedule, deliverable, and reporting obligations.
  • Credibility and confidence to defend schedule realism.
  • Must be a U.S. Person as defined under ITAR (22 CFR §120.62) and eligible to access export-controlled technical data.
  • Must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Active U.S. Government security clearance.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems, including cost and schedule integration and IPMDAR, CPR, or equivalent reporting.
  • Experience developing and maintaining resource-loaded schedules to support staffing and capacity forecasting.
  • Experience scheduling integrated hardware, software, and ground/site-integration efforts within a single IMS.
  • Experience supporting DCMA or Government schedule surveillance, Integrated Baseline Reviews, or joint schedule reviews.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment where process had to be built rather than inherited.
  • Passion, deep knowledge and direct experience on LEO satellite component development, design and in-orbit activities.

Responsibilities

  • Define and roll out the scheduling system, establishing the company's scheduling standard for Government Programs, including WBS and coding structures, calendars, activity and milestone conventions, constraint and logic rules, baseline control, and file governance.
  • Build the Microsoft Project template architecture, custom fields, reporting views, and health-check tooling.
  • Write and own the scheduling process documentation, including baseline change control procedures and recurring status cycles.
  • Train and drive adoption of the scheduling system across Program Managers, Chief Engineers, and Mission Systems Engineers.
  • Define how schedule data integrates with cost, risk, staffing, and customer reporting.
  • Own the portfolio IMS, serving as the authoritative owner of all Microsoft Project files and the Integrated Master Schedule for every program in the Government Programs portfolio.
  • Build and maintain master/subproject architectures with cross-program dependencies, shared resource structures, and clean vertical and horizontal traceability.
  • Align schedule architecture to contract WBS, WBS dictionary, SOW/PWS scope, and CDRL delivery obligations.
  • Establish performance measurement baselines and control changes through a documented, auditable process.
  • Analyze critical path and driving path, float, and schedule margin across programs.
  • Run schedule health assessments and drive findings to closure.
  • Build and run what-if, recovery, and de-scope scenarios.
  • Perform schedule risk analysis and tie risk register items to schedule margin and contingency.
  • Identify schedule risks such as long-lead procurement, test asset availability, integration and range access, qualification cycles, and software and ground segment dependencies.
  • Own schedule content and narrative for Government program reviews (PMRs, SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMs).
  • Prepare and deliver schedule-related contract deliverables and Government reporting.
  • Support capture and proposal efforts with proposal IMS/IMP structures, schedule basis of estimate, milestone and payment schedules, and schedule realism defense.
  • Build the scheduling and planning capability as the portfolio grows, including scoping and mentoring additional schedulers or planners.
