About The Position

This role is for a Senior SAP Specialist focusing on Payroll Solution Architecture within an industry leader in Energy Technology. The specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and customizing functionalities within SAP HCM modules, including Payroll, Personnel Administration, Time Management, Travel Management, Interfaces, and Organizational Management. They will act as the functional liaison between Operations, Business Process Leads, and the Applications Team, translating business needs into functional specifications. The role involves leading or contributing to HR projects, ensuring compliance with legal and HR-related requirements, and defining and executing development in SAP HR/HCM using technologies such as ABAP, Web Dynpro, Floor Plan Manager, Web Services, SAP Fiori, and UI5. Responsibilities also include analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing existing programs, managing day-to-day operational activities in SAP ECC for HR, automating routine tasks, and continuously assessing and improving systems and processes. Creating and maintaining technical documentation is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of SAP HCM/HR configuration experience in Payroll, Employee data management, Organization Management, Tax and HR operations
  • Experience in posting payroll to finance in SAP ECC and S/4
  • Demonstrated understanding of US & Canada Payroll Processing Methodology.
  • Experience in payroll schemas and Rules, Wage Types, Overpayment Functionality
  • Knowledge of BSI tax factory configuration and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of FICA limits, Tax Reporter, SAP Note/BSI TUB updates and Year End activities.
  • Experience with Tax update bulletin application and testing.
  • Experience with Garnishment configuration, benefits configuration and integration with payroll.
  • Knowledge in direct deposit and check configurations
  • Experience with integrating and interfacing third-party vendors with SAP.
  • Experience with testing activities – Test scenario creation, defect triaging, support test execution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related technical field.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and customizing functionalities within SAP HCM modules, including Payroll, Personnel Administration, Time Management, Travel Management, Interfaces, and Organizational Management.

  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing existing programs and implement necessary enhancements.
  • Managing day-to-day operational activities in SAP ECC for HR.
  • Automating routine tasks by developing scripts and templates to streamline support and management operations.
  • Continuously assessing and improving systems and processes based on user feedback and incident analysis.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including user manuals, training materials, and implementation guides.
