About The Position

The Senior Sales Manager-SMERF will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets within the Sports, Government/Military, and Religion/Fraternal organizations market segments. This role involves proactive solicitation of new business, maintaining and growing existing accounts, managing the full sales cycle, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction and optimal revenue generation. The position requires a strong understanding of the assigned market segments and the ability to navigate a fast-paced sales environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience, with strong background in group sales
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in sales systems (Delphi, Salesforce, or similar) and Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in one or more of the assigned segments preferred
  • Knowledge of local market and industry trends is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets within assigned market segments
  • Proactively solicit new business through prospecting, networking, site visits, and industry engagement
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts by building strong client relationships and ensuring repeat business
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation, RFP responses, contract negotiation, and closing
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management to ensure competitive pricing and optimal inventory utilization
  • Conduct property tours, client presentations, and participate in trade shows and industry events
  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure seamless execution of group business and client satisfaction
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, pipelines, and accounts in CRM systems (Delphi, etc.)
  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue goals as outlined by the Director of Sales & Marketing
