About The Position

Heaviside Industries builds multi-domain autonomous precision munitions for U.S. and allied special operations and conventional forces. While modern warfare has rapidly evolved with the proliferation of unmanned systems, hyper-precise munitions in contested environments are the future of the battlefield. Requirements

Strong programming skills in C++ and practical experience with Python.
Hands-on experience with ROS and PX4; ROS 2 experience is preferred.
Experience developing and debugging software on Linux.
Familiarity with robotics fundamentals, including control systems, coordinate frames, and sensor integration.
Experience working with embedded systems and physical hardware.
Familiarity with Git and collaborative software development.

Nice To Haves

Experience with autonomous vehicles or mobile robots.
Knowledge of state estimation, sensor fusion, or motion planning.
Experience with simulation and automated testing.
Familiarity with MAVLink, DDS, or similar communication protocols.
Experience with computer vision or embedded computing platforms.

Responsibilities

Develop robotics and embedded software using C++ and Python.
Build and integrate applications using ROS and PX4.
Integrate sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces.
Develop and improve control, navigation, and autonomous capabilities.
Troubleshoot issues across software and hardware.
Test and validate systems through simulation, bench testing, and field trials.
Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.
Work with the engineering team to take features from concept through deployment.
