Senior Software Engineer, Robotics

Oishii•Phillipsburg, NJ

About The Position

Oishii is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Robotics to help develop advanced farm systems that use robotic harvesting, artificial intelligence, forecasting, and automation to grow and harvest strawberries. The role is a hands-on technical lead position focused on software for autonomous robotic strawberry harvesting, with responsibility for developing, maintaining, and enhancing the robotics software stack. The engineer will contribute across areas such as perception, motion planning, data analysis tools, robotic controls, and interfaces. They will validate software in simulation and through smoke and field testing, improve key areas of the codebase, and partner with Operations to troubleshoot field issues and improve system reliability. The role also involves cross-functional work with robotics, hardware, controls, and operations teams. The role may be remote or hybrid depending on the candidate’s location, and requires approximately 25% travel, typically monthly or quarterly, to support deployments and collaborate with teams at the Phillipsburg, New Jersey site. Oishii strongly prefers candidates willing to relocate to the region or spend additional time onsite.
