Parsons is hiring a Senior Roadway Engineer to join their St Louis Transportation team. This role offers the opportunity to expand technical skills by working alongside a world-class team of civil engineers on major regional infrastructure projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • Minimum of 8 years or more of experience in roadway design engineering
  • Solid roadway geometric design background with proficiency in roadway design software (e.g., MicroStation, InRoads, Open Roads)
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT design standards and guidelines
  • Intermediate skills with Excel
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of roadway projects, including concept, preliminary and final design, alignment, grading, and pavement design.
  • Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and address any issues that arise.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, including AASHTO, FHWA, and state DOT requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and project reviews.
