About The Position

Falcata’s Product Solutions (PS) Division is seeking a Senior RF Electronics Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama. The role focuses on analysis and design of RF/microwave and analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems for RF sensors used in precision weapons or electronic warfare domains. The engineer supports the product lifecycle across multiple product lines, spanning development and manufacturing for missile, rocket, electronic warfare, and gun-launched munition platforms. Solutions may include proximity, height-of-burst (HOB), unmanned RF payload, or seeker sensors. The position supports system and subsystem development from upfront analysis and prototyping through end-item development and evaluation in laboratory and field-test environments, working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree and a minimum of 5–7 years of industry experience.
  • Experience in RF/microwave circuit design and testing.
  • Experience in analog/mixed-signal design and testing.
  • Experience with modeling, data collection, and analysis using scripting tools such as MATLAB, Python, or MathCAD.
  • Strong understanding of RF engineering principles, including VSWR, gain, and linearity.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and maximize productivity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree and a minimum of 8–10 years of industry experience.
  • Experience with Cadence OrCAD or similar schematic design software, and understanding of board layout and stack-ups for RF designs.
  • Experience implementing microwave structures, such as couplers and splitters, in artwork for visualization or block diagrams.
  • Experience with AnSoft/Ansys HFSS, AWR Microwave Office, or similar simulation tools.
  • Experience with radar, SIGINT, and/or electronic warfare product development.
  • Experience with antenna measurement instruments and systems, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and near-field and far-field chambers.
  • Experience designing to and mitigating EMI/EMC requirements, such as MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464.
  • Experience supporting mature designs in a low- or mid-rate production lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Conceive, design, implement, and test RF solutions, including proximity, height-of-burst, unmanned RF payload, and seeker sensors.
  • Analyze, design, and test RF, analog, and mixed-signal circuits.
  • Perform design studies and analysis of alternatives.
  • Collect and analyze RF performance data to validate expected versus measured results.
  • Support system and subsystem development activities, including upfront analysis, prototyping, end-item development, and evaluation in laboratory and field-test environments.
  • Test and debug designs using common laboratory equipment, including vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Work with systems, hardware, mechanical, software, and firmware engineers to develop complete solutions and products.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams locally and across physical locations.
