Senior RF Engineer

General Motors•Warren, MI
•Hybrid

About The Position

Execute, with guidance, the future of high-fidelity, vehicle-level simulation by designing and leading strategic designs that transform how RF systems are simulated, tested, and validated. Serve as the technical lead for product technology and collaborate with a specialized team of virtualization and RF antenna design engineers, setting standards, driving technical excellence, and fostering innovation. Develop antenna methodologies and define and cascade virtual requirements across complex hardware domains. Plan and perform subsystem analysis, modeling, testing, and validation spanning RF front ends through digital integration to ensure seamless performance. The position follows a hybrid work policy: three days in the office and two days remote, and the employee must be able to report to a local office.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • Four years of experience as an RF Engineer, RF Product Engineer, or in a related occupation.
  • Four years of experience with RF simulation and software tools such as HFSS, CST, or MATLAB.
  • Four years of experience with antenna design, electromagnetic modeling of RF assemblies, or subsystem integration.
  • Three years of experience with RF design from conception through high-volume production.
  • Three years of experience operating near-field spherical measurement systems, including use of a Vector Network Analyzer.
  • Three years of experience in broadcasting antenna development.
  • Three years of experience in advanced engineering design for proof of concept.
  • Three years of experience in automotive antenna development.
  • Three years of experience using virtualization tools to design, refine, and correlate antenna component development to physical tests.
  • Three years of experience with end-to-end antenna design, implementation, and validation for wireless systems, including Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS, or NFC.
  • Three years of design experience with antenna types and RF technologies including PCB antennas, transmission lines, waveguide antennas, or MIMO systems.
  • Three years of experience with antenna matching techniques and performance validation through simulation and physical testing.
  • Three years of experience with board-level and product-level EM simulations to evaluate radio performance, field radiation, and emissions.
  • Three years of experience with RF testing equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, anechoic chambers, or outdoor measurement ranges.
  • Two years of experience developing requirements for full lifecycle system validation.
  • Must be able to report to a local office under the hybrid work policy.
