About The Position

The Corporate Revenue Cycle Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst – Billing. As a Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst, you’ll be responsible for assessing current revenue cycle processes and workflows; identifying areas for efficiency and effectiveness enhancements, collaborating with teams (e.g., registration, billing, charging, coding, collections, and denials management) to streamline processes, reduce and recover denials, and optimize cash flow; and analyzing and monitoring revenue cycle metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Senior Revenue Cycle Analysts take initiative and work with limited oversight, including patient account reviews, system maintenance, data analysis, and process improvement activities. Senior Revenue Cycle Analysts supporting Billing functions are responsible for overseeing billing operations within the Central Business Offices; managing clearinghouse and claims scrubber vendors, conducting data analysis to identify opportunities to improve compliant claims submission, maximize revenue, accelerate cash collections; resolving complex billing and claims issues timely; reviewing and opining on government and payer billing requirements; and facilitating communication between internal end users and vendors.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, healthcare administration, health information management, or similar
  • Intermediate knowledge of revenue cycle operations, including an understanding of registration, charging, billing, collections, and denials management processes
  • Experience working in a patient accounting system
  • Experience using available online tools for claims and EOB review
  • Experience reviewing claim bills and remittances in document imaging systems
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the daily status of claim submissions, including file transmissions, exports and imports via the clearinghouse vendor, and claim rejections
  • Supports electronic payment enrollments (EFT / ERA) for new payers and new facilities to maximize 835 remittance receipt and posting
  • Manages and prioritizes open items with the clearinghouse vendor, including new bridge routines, claim edits, and new facility and service additions
  • Supports new facility openings, new technology system implementations, and new service additions
  • Reviews billing and cash posting staff requests for compliance with government and payer requirements and recommends compliant solutions
  • Works with leadership and the Central Business Offices to improve the clean claim rate, minimize claim rejections, and facilitate timely payment
