About The Position

Boston University Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is a leading institution for health and rehabilitation sciences, serving over 1300 undergraduate and 600+ graduate students. The Senior Research Administrator, reporting to the Director of Research Administration, is a key role within a team of 3.0 FTE research administrators responsible for the entire grant lifecycle. This senior position provides comprehensive pre-award and post-award services to a diverse group of investigators who work with various federal, state, and industry sponsors. The role involves close collaboration with and advising of principal investigators (PIs), and acting as a liaison with central administrative offices such as the Office of Research and the Office of Sponsored Programs to ensure efficient and timely management of all sponsored awards.

Requirements

  • Experience managing a complex and diverse grant portfolio.
  • Ability to provide accurate, responsive, and service-driven pre-award and post-award services.
  • Experience supporting, collaborating with, and advising principal investigators (PIs).
  • Experience working with a variety of federal, state, and industry sponsors.
  • Proficiency in reviewing and preparing grant proposals.
  • Skill in interpreting and reviewing sponsor guidelines.
  • Experience in budget development.
  • Ability to draft administrative sections of grant proposals.
  • Experience in collecting materials for grant submissions.
  • Ability to review applications for adherence to sponsor guidelines.
  • Experience obtaining institutional review/approval.
  • Experience monitoring grant budgets.
  • Experience reconciling expenses.
  • Experience managing and monitoring subawards.
  • Experience with effort certifications.
  • Experience preparing detailed financial projections and reports.

Responsibilities
