About The Position

The Senior Reliability Engineer manages and supervises HSMC-South Advanced Coatings maintenance operations and assists the leadership team with budget creation and expense tracking. The role applies specialized maintenance engineering knowledge to implement inspection and maintenance processes that keep sophisticated machinery and processing equipment operating reliably and in compliance with process specifications. It introduces new maintenance developments and repair techniques, develops equipment repair and upkeep processes, and responds to breakdowns and other operating problems to minimize manufacturing disruptions. The engineer implements maintenance programs and electronic record systems, maintains detailed records to identify recurring issues, and develops procedures for setting, calibrating, and adjusting equipment. The role also maintains tools and repair equipment, troubleshoots and repairs machinery in accordance with safety protocols, trains employees to maintain advanced coating equipment, and negotiates contracts with outside vendors. The engineer works with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Leadership to secure approval for installation and repair work, and reports to the Advanced Coatings Business Unit Leader. Key outcomes include completing maintenance on schedule, reducing unplanned downtime, improving operating equipment efficiency (OEE), and ensuring clean, safe, and efficient facilities and equipment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, administration, or facility management, plus at least 10 years of experience in a supervisory role and machine maintenance; or an advanced degree in a related field plus at least 7 years of related experience.
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
Familiarity with drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics.
Effective communication and people management skills.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
U.S. citizenship is required to access information under the program or contract.

Responsibilities

Manage and supervise HSMC-South Advanced Coatings maintenance operations.
Assist with budget creation and track expenses for leadership review.
Implement inspection and maintenance processes for machinery and processing equipment.
Apply new developments and repair techniques in maintenance engineering.
Develop processes to repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, machinery, and instruments.
Respond to emergencies, breakdowns, malfunctions, and operating problems to minimize manufacturing disruptions.
Implement maintenance programs and maintain detailed records to identify recurring equipment problems.
Create procedures for setting, calibrating, and adjusting equipment to production specifications.
Maintain tools and repair equipment in good working order.
Troubleshoot and repair machinery in accordance with established safety protocols and processes.
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Leadership to obtain approval for installation and repair activities.
Train and assist employees in maintaining advanced coating equipment.
Negotiate contracts with outside vendors for maintenance work.
Inspect and repair electrical equipment and mechanical systems to support operational efficiency.
Ensure company premises and facilities are clean and hygienic.
Comply with workplace safety policies and standards.
Implement electronic maintenance record systems to capture, record, and predict maintenance needs.
Ensure maintenance is completed on schedule, reduce unplanned downtime, and improve operating equipment efficiency (OEE).
