Senior Recruiter

Stand Insurance•San Francisco, CA
•$155,000 - $200,000•Onsite

About The Position

Stand is building a new class of global property protection using advanced physics and AI to model catastrophic risk at the asset level, automating underwriting and mitigation before loss occurs. The company's core product is the Stand World Model, a scalable risk engine. Unlike traditional insurers that price loss after it happens using backward-looking data and manual processes, Stand simulates how real-world catastrophes affect individual properties, translates this into actionable decisions, and automates the business around it. This approach allows Stand to underwrite what others cannot and operate with greater efficiency. The company is seeking a Senior Recruiter to bring full-cycle recruiting in-house, filling complex, specialized, and leadership roles efficiently and with high quality. This role is crucial for building a robust recruiting engine that supports Stand's growth without a proportional increase in organizational size. The recruiting engine will focus on self-sourced pipelines, establishing hiring standards through scorecards and interview panels, ensuring speed without compromising quality, and delivering an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience. The Senior Recruiter will partner with leaders across Product Engineering, Underwriting, Market Leads, and business functions. This is a builder role where success is measured by the quality, speed, and performance of new hires.

Requirements

  • 5+ years running full-cycle recruiting end to end, from sourcing through close, across technical, insurance, and business roles.
  • Proven in-house sourcing: ability to find and engage strong passive candidates directly, without relying on agencies or external sourcers.
  • Experience recruiting at growth-stage startups, managing 12–15 requisitions simultaneously and operating effectively under ambiguity.
  • Track record of driving time-to-hire down and cost-to-hire under benchmark while maintaining durable pipelines for recurring roles.
  • Hands-on use of automation and AI tools to run a high requisition load efficiently, including building or setting up workflows.
  • Ability to build trust with engineering, product, and business leaders, calibrate quickly, and establish scorecards and interview panels with them.
  • Consistent inclusive outbound sourcing that builds broad, high-quality candidate pools.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to discuss how AI is used, how its output is evaluated, and how it informs work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting for insurance, underwriting, or other specialized or regulated functions.
  • Strong closing skills that land top candidates at target compensation with high candidate-experience ratings.
  • Experience building a recruiting function from scratch or bringing one in-house from agencies.
  • Candidates on TN visas, O-1A visas, or H-1B transfers with three years or more remaining may be considered.
