About The Position

WeVote is a nonpartisan, volunteer-powered nonprofit using technology to help voters make informed decisions and participate in democracy more easily. We are a Fast Forward nonprofit technology grantee and a fully remote organization made up of 120+ volunteers across the U.S. We build open-source tools used by millions of voters, and we do it with a distributed team of people who care deeply about impact, collaboration, and sustainable volunteering. This is a 100% unpaid volunteer position with no salary, stipend, benefits, or promise of future paid employment.

Requirements

  • Recruiting professionals with 1+ years of experience, OR recent graduates interested in launching a talent acquisition career.
  • Passionate about using technology to strengthen American democracy.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • 5–6 hours weekly availability, including one hour for weekly team meetings.
  • Committed to nonpartisan civic engagement and voter empowerment.
  • Located in the United States (required) and comfortable working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Screen applications and conduct video interviews with potential volunteers.
  • Guide candidates from their first expression of interest through joining our team.
  • Partner with our Talent Acquisition Operations team to create and publish new roles.
  • Share WeVote’s mission and help candidates understand how they can contribute.
  • Suggest improvements to make our recruiting process more welcoming and effective.
  • Work with our team to create volunteer opportunities for people with different skill sets.
