About The Position

Saab, Inc. is hiring a Senior Quality Inspector to join its Quality Assurance team in Cranston, Rhode Island, supporting the development of complex AUS systems. The role performs product inspections across electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and cable/harness products; supports inspections throughout assembly; and ensures products and processes meet engineering requirements and quality standards. The inspector also maintains calibration and ESD resources, manages nonconforming material and deviation processes, reports inspection results, and contributes to audits and continuous improvement. Occasional support at the Bristol facility may be required. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least seven years of qualified manufacturing inspection experience, including experience with ISO/AS9100 and highly standardized processes. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. The work involves standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks including bending, stooping, walking, climbing, reaching, repetitive motions, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Extended hours may be needed. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Candidates must also pass a pre-employment drug screen. The stated compensation range is $31.63–$37.98 per hour. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 7 years of qualified inspection experience in manufacturing.
Experience with ISO/AS9100 and highly standardized processes.
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings and specifications in written and digital formats.
Ability to execute appropriate work methods and select suitable tools to achieve required quality and efficiency.
Ability to work with standardized procedures in a highly advanced and connected environment.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Must be self-mobile and able to stand for extended periods.
Ability to sit, bend, stoop, walk, climb, and reach during a normal workday.
Ability to perform repetitive motions, including lifting or assembling parts and using handheld power tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Hearing and vision within normal ranges are important for conversations and receiving ordinary information and management directives.
Ability to work extended hours if needed.

Nice To Haves

Technical degree or certification in electromechanical assembly, mechanics, or maintenance.
IPC certification.

Responsibilities

Perform incoming inspections of electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, cable/harness, and other products.
Authorize completion of assembly processes and conduct in-process inspections throughout builds.
Verify visually and dimensionally that products meet engineering drawing requirements.
Apply working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Develop and use metrics and reports within Oracle.
Maintain calibration equipment and databases.
Maintain and calibrate Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) workstations.
Inspect surfaces, fasteners, sealant, paint, and testing for defects.
Compile technical data and reports on final inspection results and recommend corrective actions.
Develop deviation reports and represent Quality at the Material Review Board.
Manage nonconforming material processes and procedures.
Deliver high workmanship standards in inspections of structural assembly and system installations.
Apply quality management system experience and become a subject matter expert in the company management system.
Participate in tooling validation and application to meet product quality and efficiency requirements.
Develop standardized work procedures to ensure repeatability.
Audit production processes for compliance and recommend improvements.
Participate in and/or lead continuous improvement projects.
Occasionally support the Bristol facility as needed.
