About The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR): The Indiana Department of Revenue team is comprised of over 700 staff that are located in 13 locations across the state of Indiana. We work collaboratively with the Indiana Governor's office, the General Assembly, state agencies, individuals, business owners, corporations, tax practitioners, and a variety of tax program participants to administer Indiana's tax laws. DOR administers over 65 tax types and annually processes nearly $21 billion of tax revenue. Our mission is to serve Indiana by administering tax laws in a fair, secure, and efficient manner. Role Overview: The Senior Quality Assurance Analyst maintains and protects the technical architecture of the Integrated Tax System (ITS). You will ensure that the respective business, application, data, and technology perspectives align with the agency and State technology and governance strategies, policies, and standards. You will be a technical expert on information resources for assigned business areas and may lead the technical oversight for developing and implementing changes to the ITS system.

Requirements

Broad knowledge of agency IT and business systems, PC hardware and software and management principles.
Broad knowledge of QA testing and reporting procedures and practices.
Thorough knowledge of applicable federal, state and local rules, regulations, statutes and procedures.
Extensive knowledge of applications development, operations and technical support and applicable security programs and practices.
Ability to identify and resolve problems or develop creative solutions when necessary.
Ability to work with costly equipment and remain accountable.
Effective communication skills.
At least 6 + years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.
Completion of relevant education degree(s) may substitute for equivalent years of experience.
Related certifications may be considered for education or experience.
Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

May coordinate and/or supervise the work of lower-level QA staff.
Act as technical expert and information resource concerning assigned areas.
Perform and lead tests to ensure that all IT systems, products, and services meet minimum standards and requirements.
Work closely with the applications development team during software development to include areas of application development, operation and technical support and security.
Lead and administer change control processes to ensure minimal defect software development.
Create complex test data for applications.
Document testing data, findings, and reports.
Provide requested weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports, and regularly update assigned manager.
Devise improvements to current test procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.
Perform complex workflow analysis and recommend quality improvements.
Recommend new and improved QA practices and procedures.
Prepare QA documents, manuals, training curriculum and training sessions.
Provide resources for agency technical writers.
Mentor and provide guidance and training to new and/or lower-level staff.
