About The Position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is seeking a Senior QC Engineer in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for acting as the department quality control engineer for all Substation and Relay & Control Design packages. The primary goal is to ensure all designs at 30/60/90 and IFC stages undergo ECI's rigorous review process. The Senior QC Engineer will utilize a strong understanding of engineering principles and practices in substation and relay design to conduct comprehensive reviews by organizing a team of reviewers and ensuring high-quality outcomes for medium to large substation engineering projects.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
10+ years’ substation design experience or a combination of applicable education and experience as determined by management
Expertise regarding industry standards, procedures, and processes
Complete knowledge of substation & relay engineering principles
Ability to perform all drawing review duties accurately, efficiently, and with no instruction or input needed from the project manager or others
Must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future

PE license strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Supervising and coordinating QA/QC design reviews as well as final sign-off of documents issued for procurement and construction.
Instilling a professional design reputation with ECI clients, as well as encouraging the highest quality work with team members.
Providing encouragement, insight, mentoring and challenge to team members who are all part of the QC process.
Reviewing technical design packages including highly advanced and unique technical work performed by others and providing technical reviews and oversight, including mentorship to associate staff.
