About The Position

Sparteo is hiring a Senior Publisher Partnerships Manager to build its publisher business on the US East Coast, focusing on independent premium and mid-market (Tier 2) publishers that are underserved by large platforms. The role involves identifying high-potential publishers, engaging their decision-makers, and closing exclusive monetization partnerships. The position is an early senior sales leadership opportunity in Sparteo’s North American expansion, with influence over target segments, competitive positioning, go-to-market strategy, and the development of the North American supply team. The manager will prospect across the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest; activate existing publisher relationships; assess publisher ad stacks, traffic quality, and revenue potential; and maintain a forecastable pipeline against ambitious revenue targets. They will sell to executive decision-makers, explain technical advertising concepts in commercial terms, negotiate long-term exclusive agreements with support from Legal, and coordinate partner launches with Account Management and Ad Operations. The role also contributes market intelligence on US publisher needs, competition, privacy requirements, and emerging formats to leadership and Product teams. It is based in the New York area and involves working from home and on the road, including travel to meet publishers. Sparteo has a team of more than 100 people across 11 countries and is expanding in North America.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in ad tech or digital media sales on the publisher side.
  • A proven track record of closing and growing publisher partnerships in the US.
  • An established network and real decision-maker relationships among US Tier 2 publishers, including independent premium, mid-market, vertical, and niche media.
  • Experience selling exclusive or managed-service monetization solutions, beyond non-exclusive SSP integrations.
  • Executive presence and negotiation skills, including credibility with publisher owners and C-level leaders and the ability to structure and close long-term partnerships.
  • A hunter mindset and ability to open new accounts, handle objections, and independently run complex deals.
  • Based in the New York area and ready to travel to meet publishers.
  • Strong analytical and pragmatic problem-solving approach, and willingness to work in a fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to listen, accept challenges, and continuously improve.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of programmatic mechanics, including header bidding, SSPs, ad servers, yield, consent management, GPP, and US state privacy laws.
  • Ability to build data-backed business cases using RPM uplift, traffic analysis, and yield comparisons.
  • Experience at a fast-growing ad tech company or in a market launch, building rather than inheriting a book of business.
  • Regular use of AI tools to research, prepare, and scale sales activity.
  • Experience selling video monetization or CMP/consent solutions as part of a broader stack.
  • Knowledge of CTV and in-app monetization trends in the US.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring sellers and interest in taking on a broader North American supply leadership role over time.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SimilarWeb, BuiltWith, or ad stack analyzers.
  • French language skills.

  • Assess publishers’ advertising technology stacks, traffic quality, and revenue potential using tools such as SimilarWeb, BuiltWith, and ad stack analyzers.
  • Build and maintain a robust, predictable pipeline and forecast performance against ambitious revenue targets.
  • Engage CEOs, founders, CROs, and Heads of Revenue, positioning Sparteo as a strategic monetization partner.
  • Explain header bidding, consent, Core Web Vitals, and yield in terms of business value and potential revenue uplift.
  • Lead negotiations for long-term exclusive partnerships, focusing on value and revenue growth, and work with Legal on contract terms.
  • Coordinate handoffs to Account Management and Ad Operations to help new partners achieve results quickly.
  • Share structured insights about US publisher needs, objections, market specifics, privacy laws, GPP, managed-service networks, CTV, and video adoption with leadership and Product teams.
  • Understand competitors serving US Tier 2 publishers and develop arguments to win business from them.
  • Help define Sparteo’s US go-to-market approach, share best practices with the West Coast team, and contribute to building the North American supply business.
