Senior Project Superintendent - Semiconductor (Traveling)
About The Position
The Weitz Company is seeking a Senior Project Superintendent for its Industrial team. Semiconductor experience is preferred, and the role requires national travel based on business and project needs. The Senior Project Superintendent is responsible for profitable field operations on complex, large projects. This person establishes the jobsite safety culture and works closely with the Project Manager to manage schedule, budget, and staff. The position also develops and maintains effective relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors. It typically reports to the most senior Project Manager on the job.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- At least eight years of extensive field and project construction management experience.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven history of successfully leading others and teaching, developing, and mentoring them.
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
- Knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Time-management and project-organization skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Apple products, including iPhone and iPad.
- Ability to learn specific software.
Nice To Haves
- Industry-related college degree.
- Industrial experience.
- Semiconductor experience.
- Solid systems experience with Procore, JDE, and Asta.
Responsibilities
- Construct the project in accordance with plans, schedule, specifications, and standards.
- Lead subcontractors and field employees on a jobsite.
- Lead project safety in accordance with the Company’s Safety Policy.
- Work alongside the Project Manager(s) to manage the project schedule, budget, and staff.
- Develop and maintain the project schedule using scheduling software and prepare two-week look-ahead schedules.
- Assist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractors.
- Recommend ways to reduce cost, improve schedule dates, decrease project scope, and improve project quality.
- Ensure project documents are accurate, timely, and compliant, including closeout documents, submittals, and daily logs.
- Review and enforce all contract terms and obligations.
- Adhere to all company policies, standards, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
