About The Position

Ledcor Building is seeking a Senior Project Manager with a focus on design-build projects to join their team in Edmonton. This role involves leading exciting projects and working within a diverse team of professionals. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for developing and executing project plans and schedules, ensuring the highest safety and quality standards, and consistently meeting budgets, schedules, and scope for complex projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of related work experience as a Project Manager, including design-build project delivery
  • Successful completion of drug & alcohol test
  • Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering or related discipline
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, costs, budgets and current construction practices and methodology
  • Must have and maintain a valid provincial driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with P3 (Public-Private Partnership) or defence sector projects
  • PMP or Gold Seal certification

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project. Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance with Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project.
  • Creates and/or facilitates the Project Quality Program to ensure project materials are supplied and work is completed accordingly, and that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes.
  • Develops and maintains the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates.
  • Leads project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project's ongoing progression.
  • Provides strong leadership to construction team members, capitalizing on individual and group strengths to ensure project targets are achieved, including mentoring junior and intermediate project managers and coordinators.
  • Identifies and manages opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible impact on schedule and financial targets, while maintaining, tracking and reporting all financial aspects of the project including forecasts and billings.
  • Manages the procurement process including subcontractor/trade/supplier negotiations and awards.
  • Acts as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders and ownership groups, including on P3 or defence-related projects where applicable.
