Senior Project Architect – Civic, Education & Healthcare
About The Position
Join a multidisciplinary architecture and engineering organization with a strong presence throughout the Southeast and a nationwide architectural practice. The architecture team brings together planning, design, technical, and project-delivery professionals across multiple offices to support complex civic, academic, and healthcare environments. This collaborative practice emphasizes thoughtful design, technical quality, client service, and sharing expertise across offices. As a Senior Project Architect, you will have the opportunity to lead meaningful projects, mentor developing professionals, and influence projects from early planning through construction.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited architectural program.
- 10+ years of relevant architectural experience.
- Registered Architect or completion of the NCARB Program.
- Strong proficiency with Revit Architecture and complementary architectural design and production tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of the complete architectural project lifecycle, from project development and scoping through design and construction.
- Experience independently developing and coordinating complete architectural project documentation.
- Ability to prepare and coordinate project manuals and specifications.
- Experience leading architectural teams and assigning work across architects and technical staff.
- Strong understanding of project scopes, budgets, schedules, technical coordination, and project delivery.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary and multi-office teams.
- Strong client-facing communication and experience working with consultants, contractors, reviewing officials, and other project stakeholders.
- Sound judgment, delegation, time management, and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt as project and business requirements evolve.
- Ability to travel to project sites as project needs require.
Responsibilities
- Lead architectural project teams through planning, design, documentation, bidding, construction administration, and closeout.
- Direct the technical execution of projects while maintaining design intent, quality standards, budgets, and schedules.
- Develop comprehensive architectural drawings, specifications, project manuals, and coordinated construction documents.
- Coordinate architectural work with multidisciplinary consultants, contractors, clients, reviewing agencies, and internal teams.
- Establish scopes, schedules, budgets, assignments, and priorities for project teams.
- Delegate and oversee work performed by architects, designers, technicians, and administrative support professionals.
- Apply architectural principles and sound technical judgment to resolve design and construction challenges.
- Manage multiple concurrent assignments while maintaining deadlines and project-quality expectations.
- Participate in client and project meetings and clearly communicate architectural recommendations and project decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, technical standards, knowledge sharing, and mentorship across the architecture practice.
