About The Position

Join a well-established, multidisciplinary architecture and engineering organization with a significant presence across the Southeastern United States. The architecture practice brings together planning, design, technical, and project-delivery professionals across multiple offices to build project teams around each client’s needs. This opportunity sits within a growing practice that values collaboration, technical excellence, strong client relationships, and knowledge-sharing across offices. The team supports complex community-focused environments, including justice, civic, academic, and healthcare facilities. This role offers the opportunity to take a leadership role within a growing Justice Architecture practice, working on meaningful public-sector and community-focused projects from early planning through construction. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and project teams across multiple offices, lead project delivery while continuing to contribute directly to technical architectural work, and gain exposure to a nationwide portfolio with projects and clients across multiple states. The position is based in Montgomery, Alabama, with travel to project sites as project needs require.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture from an accredited architectural program.
  • 10+ years of relevant architectural experience with demonstrated responsibility for project execution and delivery.
  • Registered Architect or completion of the NCARB Program.
  • Strong proficiency with Revit Architecture.
  • Broad knowledge of architectural principles, building design, documentation, detailing, and construction processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage architectural work from project development and scoping through design, documentation, and construction administration.
  • Experience developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, specifications, and complete construction documents.
  • Ability to direct architects, technicians, and other project contributors while working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client-facing, written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, organization, delegation, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines while adapting to changing project and business requirements.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites when required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architectural project teams through planning, design, documentation, bidding, construction administration, and closeout.
  • Drive the technical execution and successful delivery of complex justice, civic, and institutional architecture projects.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, technical documentation, specifications, and project manuals.
  • Coordinate architects, technicians, consultants, contractors, clients, government officials, and other project stakeholders.
  • Produce and oversee complete architectural designs and construction documents using Revit and complementary design tools.
  • Manage multiple concurrent assignments while maintaining quality, schedules, and project commitments.
  • Provide direction and delegation to architectural and technical staff while supporting continuous improvement across the team.
  • Represent the project team in client and project meetings and clearly communicate technical and design decisions.
  • Apply architectural, regulatory, financial, environmental, and constructability considerations throughout project delivery.
