About The Position

This is a full-time contractual position functioning as a Programmer Analyst Lead for the Claims Team of the Division of Medicaid Information Systems (DMIS). The role involves analyzing, designing, developing, testing, documenting, and implementing programming solutions for the MMIS-II system. Additionally, the position will lead lower-level IT Programmer Analysts through training, assigning, approving, and reviewing their work, and providing technical guidance and consultation. This position is hybrid telework eligible.

Requirements

• Six years of experience.
• Two years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools.
• An additional four years of experience converting data from project specifications by writing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools.
• Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached.

Nice To Haves

• Experience supporting the Maryland Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) or another State's MMIS.
• Experience in IBM z/OS mainframe application development and support.
• Experience and proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, ISPF and TSO.
• Experience with debugging and performance tools such as Xpeditor, File-AID and QMF.
• Experience with Information Builders FOCUS.

Responsibilities

• Function as a Programmer Analyst Lead for the Claims Team of the Division of Medicaid Information Systems (DMIS).
• Analyze, design, develop, test, document, and implement programming solutions for the MMIS-II system.
• Lead lower-level IT Programmer Analysts through training, assigning, approving, and reviewing their work.
• Provide technical guidance and consultation to lower-level IT Programmer Analysts.
