About The Position

This full-time contractual position will function as a Programmer Analyst, responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining applications and programming solutions for the MMIS-II system. The role involves using generally accepted computer programming languages and developmental tools, and consulting with users to plan, develop, evaluate, and revise the system. This position is hybrid telework eligible.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience.
  • One year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools.
  • An additional four years of experience converting data from project specifications by writing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools.
  • Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where the employee can be reached.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting the Maryland Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) or another States MMIS.
  • Experience in IBM z/OS mainframe application development and support.
  • Experience and proficiency in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, ISPF and TSO.
  • Experience with debugging and performance tools such as Xpeditor, File-AID and QMF.
  • Experience with Information Builders FOCUS.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining applications and programming solutions for the MMIS-II system.
  • Using generally accepted computer programming languages and developmental tools.
  • Consulting with users to plan, develop, evaluate, and revise the system.
