About The Position

Responsible for formulating and executing event strategy for the College consistent with its mission, vision, and operating entities. Directly supports the Colleges leadership team in developing area specific engagement, stewardship, and strategic event creation and management ensuring all outward-facing events are consistent with the brand, and developing and managing an event budget. Develops and executes strategy for increased donor stewardship, retention, and philanthropic support. Position requires collaboration with the senior leadership team; supervision provided to student workers, student ambassadors, and event volunteers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Higher Education, Psychology, Business, Data Science and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Ability to adapt to program/project and incorporate creativity and originality

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, hospitality management, public relations, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in event planning and management.
  • Knowledge of DFW area events.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office, the internet, and email skills.
  • Familiarity with Raisers Edge software a plus.
  • A successful candidate must be able to perform light lifting of chairs and tables if event setups need minor changes.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in developing fundraising goals for the college and has responsibility for formulating a supporting stewardship strategy and student philanthropy model.
  • Responsible for engaging event attendees and developing relationships with key constituents to foster further donor engagement.
  • Researches options and costs and make recommendations for new events and suggests varied arrangements and locations.
  • Maintains an awareness of trends in event planning to ensure College events are unique and innovative to maximize success of advancement activities.
  • Represents the College and Dean's office on University committees and acts on behalf of the Dean and the senior leadership team in major events and advancement planning.
  • Takes a lead role in advancement and implementation of College-level stewardship activities.
  • Creation of Special Events Calendar.
  • Coordination of Special Events, up to and including managing volunteers.
  • Management of invitation and RSVP process.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains documented event planning processes and procedures.
  • Preparation of annual event budget.
