Senior Program Manager - Top Secret Clearance
About The Position
Red Hat Consulting is seeking a Senior Program Manager with an active Top Secret security clearance to join its North American Public Sector team. The role manages complex IT and software consulting programs from initiation through delivery and closure, coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. Frequent travel may be required in the future to work alongside public sector customers. The Senior Program Manager leads program execution, serves as the primary contact for clients and key stakeholders, manages risks, and provides executive-level progress and outcome updates. The role also includes mentoring junior team members and project/program managers, developing foundational knowledge of Red Hat technologies, and staying aware of emerging technologies.
Requirements
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- Knowledge of project management and technical delivery methodologies, including methodologies based on PMI, systems and software development, product development, or Scrum.
- At least 5 years of experience as a project manager managing customer-facing IT consulting projects.
- Ability to affect, inspect, and adapt company culture.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate project teams and individual contributors and mediate conflicts.
- Experience using project management and Agile tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

Responsibilities
- Lead execution of multiple complex programs and ensure delivery aligns with business objectives.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, project managers, and program managers to support high-quality program execution.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and key stakeholders and ensure programs align with customer expectations.
- Manage program risks and develop creative solutions to overcome challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain accountability for program outcomes.
- Prepare and present executive-level reports and updates on program progress and outcomes.
- Coordinate team activities and ensure tasks are completed on time and within scope.
- Maintain professionalism when problem-solving and resolving issues.
- Develop foundational knowledge of Red Hat technologies and maintain awareness of emerging Red Hat technologies.
