Senior Program Manager, Trade

TrueCar, Inc.•Atlanta, GA
•$88,000 - $117,000

About The Position

TRUECar is building TRUECar Trade, a new business line that helps people sell or trade in their car at a fair, transparent price. The Senior Program Manager will run the operating system for the team, owning the program plan, the gates that determine when the business scales, and the weekly rhythm that aligns Product, Engineering, Operations, Dealer Sales, Legal, Finance, and Analytics. The role reports to the SVP of Trade and includes setting up an agentic team to track status, prepare readouts, and audit and flag risks so team members can focus on building and decision-making. The role manages TRUECar Trade’s three build priorities in order: vehicle condition capture, the dealer buyer network, and a frictionless transaction. It coordinates new-market pilot launches, stage gates, cross-functional and partner dependencies, and the operating cadence and reporting used to monitor progress and outcomes. The Senior Program Manager also builds and maintains dashboards and decision records, works with Legal and Compliance on applicable requirements, and identifies process, tooling, or staffing gaps as the business grows.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of progressively responsible program or project management experience, including at least one zero-to-one launch of a new product, business line, or marketplace.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional programs spanning technology, operations, and commercial teams, with executive stakeholders.
  • Track record of establishing operating cadences, stage gates, and KPI scorecards used by leaders to make decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools, such as Claude, to accelerate planning, analysis, drafting, and status reporting, and experience building or running AI agents or automated workflows relied on by a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication at all organizational levels, including one-page readouts that lead with the answer.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort building trackers and dashboards and retrieving data independently.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a startup pace, including making and updating plans with incomplete or changing information.
  • Strong capability with TRUECar’s preferred tools and productivity suites, such as Google Workspace, Asana, Tableau, and Claude.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, including for pilot market launches.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive industry experience is strongly preferred, especially in remarketing, wholesale, used-vehicle acquisition, dealer operations, or automotive marketplaces.
  • Working familiarity with SQL or Amplitude.
  • PMP, PgMP, or Agile certification.
  • Experience with regulated transactions such as vehicle titling, lending, or payments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the integrated program plan for TRUECar Trade across vehicle condition capture, the dealer buyer network, and a frictionless transaction, in that order.
  • Run pilot launches in new markets from readiness checklist through go-live, including dealer onboarding, operations staffing, support coverage, and launch-day coordination.
  • Manage the stage gates that determine when Trade expands; define exit criteria with Finance and the Executive Committee, track progress weekly, and prepare evidence for gate reviews.
  • Run the weekly operating rhythm, including status reviews, the KPI scorecard, and executive readouts covering current status, changes, and needs.
  • Maintain the decision log and RAID register, with a named owner and due date for every open item, and escalate early when a date or metric is at risk.
  • Coordinate Trade’s dependencies on shared teams, including Engineering, Data Science, Dealer Sales, Marketing, Support, Legal, and Finance, and on partners such as lenders, credit unions, affinity organizations, and logistics providers.
  • Partner with Legal and Compliance to set up and operate in conjunction with requirements.
  • Build and manage an agentic workforce to supplement and accelerate team work functions.
  • Build and maintain a program dashboard showing milestones, owners, health, and outcomes.
  • Tie every workstream to a metric and report results after each launch.
  • Identify process, tooling, or staffing gaps as the business grows and propose efficient solutions to improve speed and achievement.
