About The Position

This role supports a multi-year transformation focused on shifting TELUS's global team members to a skills-based talent management approach. The goal is to move beyond job titles to a dynamic model where skills (Human and Functional) are the primary focus. By utilizing data and AI, the initiative aims to enhance business agility, improve talent process efficiency, empower career development, and build a future-ready workforce. The Senior Program Manager will lead the daily operations of this transformation, acting as a central orchestrator to manage stakeholders and data insights, ensuring team member skills are matched with business needs.

Requirements

  • Proven analytical abilities in data analysis, forecasting, and business modeling.
  • Ability to identify meaning from data and tell a compelling story based on insights.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to increase productivity.
  • Proficient with Google Suite, Fig Jam, and other collaboration tools.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and taking a systematic approach and framework to tackle complex problems.

  • Strong EQ, value diversity of thought, contribute to a small but mighty team, and foster positive relationships with team members at all levels and across the organization.
  • 5-7 years of Project Management experience, ideally within a People/HR function.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-wide transformations.
  • Experience managing matrixed stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of the nuances of working in a global team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operational rhythm and governance of the cultural transformation.
  • Create the structure and playbook for the initiative.
  • Pull together qualitative and quantitative insights from diverse enterprise use cases (e.g., Strategic Workforce Planning, Succession Planning, Redeployment) to ensure the project is sustainable and scalable.
  • Ensure the transition to a skills-based model is seamless and aligned with the 2026 Roadmap.
  • Own the live 2026 Roadmap, proactively reviewing milestones and the 'Definition of Done'.
  • Leverage AI tools to synthesize qualitative data from leadership interviews and quantitative results from pilots into clear, concise insights.
  • Build high-quality, executive-ready decks using data-driven storytelling for senior leaders.
  • Strategically align stakeholders (Stream Leads, People and Culture Business Partners, L&D, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Finance, P&C Systems, CIO, Privacy, Procurement) to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Establish and maintain the project’s governance framework, including meeting cadence and status reporting.
  • Create performance dashboards and progress reports for Executive and Senior level audiences.
  • Identify 'collision points' and blockers early, developing 3-month timelines and providing clear options and recommendations.
  • Distill complex project updates into a '2-Week Look-ahead' highlighting risks, upcoming milestones, and required actions.
