About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting project management for early-stage clinical programs. The Senior Program Manager will work with the Project Leader to track tasks, considering timelines and budget. A key responsibility will be to develop and implement a new matrixed Product Development Team framework with input from cross-functional partners, including Clinical, Preclinical, CMC, and Commercial. The role involves managing the project planning process, tracking project timelines, driving execution, and managing Product Development Team meetings across different programs. The Senior Program Manager will collaborate across functional areas to ensure Clinical Development maintains project timelines and budgets, working with preclinical, CMC, finance, and other groups within Zymeworks. This position will identify issues, analyze risks, and develop contingency plans to support the Clinical Project Leader and Clinical Development team. Additionally, the role involves partnering with the Zymeworks Clinical team to ensure study timelines and budgets are achieved, communicating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, preparing and managing overall clinical and product development plans, and liaising with preclinical and Clinical Development teams to identify gaps and accelerate preclinical programs toward Phase I/II clinical trials. The Senior Program Manager will also oversee program budgets and maintain forecasts for annual operating expenditures and departmental expenses.

Requirements

  • BSc in a biological science
  • Minimum six (6+) years of project-management experience in the bioscience industry
  • Experience in multiple external partnerships and proven ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Broad knowledge of early-stage development of new biologics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative environment, and ability to achieve results through other managers and people.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
