Senior Product Specialist

JLL•Chicago, IL
•$93,000 - $115,000•Remote

About The Position

The Senior Product Specialist is an embedded product enablement partner for JLL’s Leasing technology group, focused on Internal Lease Comps. The role delivers enablement programs, drives adoption, and supports operations for proprietary and AI tools. It owns broker relationships for confirming or correcting AI-extracted lease terms, responds promptly, and demonstrates how broker feedback leads to changes. The role is proactive and helps establish the function from the ground up. Success is measured by increasing the number of verified, correct comps reaching Research each week in the markets covered. The specialist evaluates AI-extracted lease comp data against source lease documents and broker feedback, applying human judgment before Research uses the data. The role does not abstract leases or build the data pipeline, but requires enough lease-term knowledge to spot questionable values and identify the right person to consult. It works closely with the Principal Product Manager for Internal Lease Comps, Research teams, Engineering, and brokers. This is a remote position, with the Central time zone preferred and a standard coverage window of 7:00 AM–7:00 PM CT. The position does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Expected compensation is $93,000–$115,000 per year. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until a candidate is identified.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in leasing, tenant representation, or commercial real estate.
  • Hands-on commercial real estate or leasing/tenant-representation background.
  • Working knowledge in practice of Full Service Gross, Modified Gross, and NNN, including how TI and free rent are quoted and how these terms vary by market and product type.
  • Direct experience sourcing, verifying, or circulating lease comps with brokers.
  • Comfort using dashboards, spreadsheets, and Jira or similar tools to track data-quality issues, and critically evaluating AI-generated output.
  • Clear, fast, confident communication, including the ability to explain lease terms to senior brokers and disagree when the lease supports a different conclusion.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and early-stage ownership.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • SQL experience.
  • JLL experience and existing relationships with brokers or Research teams.
  • Central time zone (CST) location preference.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for brokers confirming or correcting AI-extracted lease comp terms; respond to confirmations, corrections, and questions within minutes during working hours and always on the same day.
  • Proactively identify brokers and markets that have stopped responding and determine the reasons by email, phone, or through team leads.
  • Assess broker corrections against the lease and local Research conventions; record the broker’s value, the relevant lease clause, and the decision.
  • Capture broker feedback and complaints directly, and follow up when reported issues are resolved.
  • Handle requests to keep specific comps confidential according to JLL’s data-handling protocol and flag conflicts to Research before proceeding.
  • Create the broker-facing playbook, including reply templates, market checklists, and escalation paths.
  • Partner with local Research leads to agree on definitions such as rent type, free rent, TI, and OpEx before entering new markets, and refine templates accordingly.
  • Present directly to brokers, including potentially traveling with the Product Manager to broker all-hands meetings.
  • Guide the function through its early, ambiguous stage while no playbook exists.
  • Evaluate AI-extracted lease comp data against source lease documents and broker feedback before downstream Research use.
  • Log AI-versus-broker discrepancies, including the AI value, broker value, and determining lease clause, to support testing and improving AI accuracy.
  • Translate logged issues into actionable Engineering backlog items with supporting evidence, then follow up with brokers when issues are resolved.
  • Apply automation selectively, such as auto-acknowledging simple confirmations, so human judgment can focus on complex corrections.
  • Track and report broker reply rates weekly for every covered market, documenting reasons for underperformance.
  • Report patterns in corrections, broker and market inactivity, and recurring complaints, rather than totals alone.
  • Maintain the integrity of the correction log as a dataset that Engineering and Research can use.
  • Build trusted senior-level broker relationships and, when necessary, disagree based on the lease while preserving the relationship.
  • Represent broker feedback to Product and Research teams and translate recurring issues into prioritized, evidence-based product improvements.
  • Partner closely with the Product Manager on day-to-day market and broker prioritization.
