About The Position

Mercury is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager to join their team, focusing on Cards and Spend Management products. This role involves understanding customer needs, developing strategic positioning, and executing go-to-market plans to drive product growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the market, customers, and competitors, and will collaborate with various teams including Product, Design, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to influence the product roadmap and enhance customer value. This position requires a blend of research, strategy, execution, and a willingness to handle diverse tasks in a fast-growing startup environment.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience, with 3+ years of product marketing experience at a tech company.
  • Ideally at least 1 year of product marketing experience in fintech.
  • Expertise in personas, positioning, messaging, pricing, and GTM strategy.
  • Understanding of marketing channels and content types, and how to use them effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across different levels of the company.
  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans.
  • Customer-centric approach with experience in customer research that informs strategy.
  • Experience with data analysis and SQL is a big plus.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-growing startup.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute product marketing strategy to drive awareness, adoption, spend, and revenue growth for Mercury’s Cards and Spend Management products.
  • Articulate product positioning, messaging, and value propositions based on deep product, market, and customer understanding.
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to understand customer needs and identify gaps in current offerings.
  • Plan and execute product go-to-market strategies, including audience segmentation, messaging, channel strategy, and measurement.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to influence the product roadmap, aiming to increase product adoption and customer growth.
  • Partner with Sales and Relationship Management teams to improve sales win rates and product upsell opportunities.
  • Build relationships with marketing and brand teams to develop campaigns, landing pages, advertising, case studies, social posts, and public relations outreach.
  • Undertake various tasks as needed, such as writing press releases, negotiating sponsorships, or interviewing customers.
