Senior Product Manager, LSP Platform

Altana•Brooklyn, WA
•$185,000 - $220,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Altana is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own the roadmap for its Logistics Service Provider (LSP) Platform, a strategic product area serving freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers. The platform helps LSPs manage government regulation and modernize business processes through Altana’s network, supporting collaborative customs workflows to screen and clear shipments, reduce risk and delays, and offer trade intelligence services to shippers. The role focuses on embedding Altana into LSPs’ daily workflows as a native capability and helping LSPs expand the Altana network. The Product Manager will work with major logistics companies and partner with engineering, design, data science, Enterprise and Public Sector product teams, and go-to-market teams. The position is accountable for product adoption, usage, and customer outcomes, including improvements such as fewer holds and detentions, faster clearance, lower compliance costs, and new revenue for LSPs. The role can be based in Brooklyn, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; or Washington, D.C., with hybrid work flexibility. The stated U.S. annual base salary range is $185,000–$220,000. Altana describes its compensation package as including competitive equity grants in the majority of full-time offers and either a discretionary bonus or variable compensation plan, depending on the role.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of product management experience.
  • Experience shipping B2B products that customers rely on.
  • Ideally, experience with data-intensive, API-driven, or enterprise workflow products.
  • Relentless curiosity and willingness to learn how complex industries, systems, incentives, and customer workarounds operate.
  • Willingness to work side by side with customers, listen closely, build trust, and treat customers as product-building partners.
  • Ability to own outcomes, measure customer impact, take responsibility when products are not working, and continue iterating.
  • Comfort using AI in daily work for prototyping and code contributions.
  • Understanding of APIs, EDI, ETL/ELT, JSON, and integration architecture, with the ability to work in depth with engineers and customer IT teams.
  • Strong focus on user experience and reducing friction in integrations and workflows.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at an early-stage or high-growth company defining a product area amid ambiguity rather than inheriting a mature roadmap.
  • Experience with embedded customer work, such as design partnerships, pilots, or on-site discovery, that shaped a product and led to measurable adoption.
  • Experience building platform, API, or integration products that fit into customers’ existing systems and workflows.
  • Comfort working with data-heavy or AI/ML-driven products and turning complex model outputs into decisions users can act on confidently.
  • Exposure to logistics, freight, customs, trade compliance, or supply chain technology.
  • Experience with products serving multiple stakeholders with competing incentives, such as marketplaces, networks, or multi-party workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Define the roadmap for Altana’s LSP products, balancing near-term customer commitments with long-term platform investments.
  • Develop a deep understanding of LSP business models, operations, and customer relationships across forwarding, brokerage, and carriage, and translate that understanding into product priorities.
  • Set and track success metrics tied to customer impact, including fewer holds and detentions, faster clearance, lower compliance costs, and new LSP revenue.
  • Focus on the user experience of brokers, compliance analysts, and operations teams working at high volume and under time pressure.
  • Coordinate with Enterprise and Public Sector product teams so that information submitted by shippers, processed by LSPs, and received by governments forms a coherent, trusted story.
  • Work directly with customers through discovery, design partnerships, pilots, and post-launch feedback, and bring customer insights back to the team.
  • Write clear requirements that engineering teams can build from.
  • Use AI to prototype and test ideas before production code is written.
  • Own product adoption, usage, and customer outcomes; track results and iterate until the product delivers the intended impact.

Benefits

  • Flexible Time Off policy.
  • Paid parental leave: 14 weeks for non-birthing, adoptive, and foster parents, and up to 26 weeks for birthing parents, paid at 100% of base salary.
  • Medical, vision, and dental benefits with employer contributions.
  • High-deductible health plan paid 100% by the employer for employees, plus an employer contribution to a Health Savings Account.
  • Flexible Spending Account option, including Dependent Care FSA.
  • Life, short-term disability, long-term disability, and AD&D insurance at no cost to employees.
