About The Position

D.R. Horton is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the product direction and priorities for a team of about seven engineers and quality engineers, supported by a Scrum Master. The role will initially focus on foundational data capabilities and then expand into a marketing activation platform. This is an in-office position in Arlington, Texas. During the first year, the Senior Product Manager will own the roadmap for data ingestion, modeling, and dashboards, establishing customer entity, identity, and event foundations for marketing. As the foundation matures, the role will guide development of self-service audience and journey tooling, triggered and broadcast programs, dynamic content, and a next-best-action decisioning engine. Data investments should be planned around the marketing use cases they enable, in partnership with Data Science so models can integrate with the decisioning engine. The role leads through influence rather than direct supervision and works across Delivery, Data Science, Marketing, Operations, and IT. It is responsible for gathering needs, prioritizing and documenting product requirements, supporting Agile delivery, measuring outcomes, validating releases, communicating status and risks, and helping users adopt platform capabilities. The position also researches emerging trends, technologies, and competitor capabilities, and conducts business professionally and ethically to serve customers and support company goodwill and profit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in product management or digital product development.
  • At least 3 years as a product manager for a data engineering or data platform team, including owning roadmaps, writing stories, and working directly with data engineers.
  • Hands-on fluency with data ingestion patterns, entity modeling, identity resolution, data quality, and lineage.
  • Experience with marketing data as a primary use case, such as CDPs, customer 360, event pipelines feeding marketing tools, or personalization.
  • Exposure to journey orchestration, audience building, or decisioning, whether built in-house or on platforms such as Braze, Adobe (AJO/RTCDP), Salesforce, Iterable, or Pega.
  • Experience designing self-service products, including guardrails, permissions, and governance.
  • Experience guiding a team through a shift in technical direction, such as moving from batch data work to real-time or customer-facing services.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and align teams and stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience as a Scrum Product Owner.
  • Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, including the ability to translate between data engineers, data scientists, and marketers.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA.
  • Experience building or evolving a decisioning or offer-arbitration system.
  • Experience defining integration contracts between data science and production systems.

  • Background in marketing operations, CRM, or lifecycle marketing before moving into product.
  • Privacy, consent, and channel compliance experience.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Define the vision, strategy, and capability map for the marketing activation platform, including audience tooling, journey orchestration infrastructure, triggered and broadcast frameworks, dynamic content zones, and a next-best-action decisioning engine.
  • Partner with Data Science to define how models feed the decisioning engine so new models can be deployed without custom integration.
  • Design self-service capabilities with appropriate guardrails, permissions, and governance for marketers.
  • Gather and analyze business, marketer, and data science needs to inform prioritization.
  • Create and maintain requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications.
  • Partner with Delivery, Data Science, Marketing, Operations, and IT to plan and execute sprints, resolve issues, and manage release scope.
