About The Position

Marriott is seeking an experienced FLEX Senior Product Manager, Corporate Systems Procurement to own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of indirect tax integrations across procurement platforms. The role will integrate Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Source-to-Contract (S2C) solutions with the Vertex tax engine to enable automated, accurate, and compliant tax determination throughout the procurement lifecycle. The position partners with Engineering, Architecture, Tax, Procurement, Finance, and Accounts Payable to define integration strategies, data models, and scalable solutions that deliver business value while meeting regulatory requirements. This is a temporary assignment through October 9, 2027. The role owns a multi-release roadmap across Coupa P2P, Coupa S2C, and Birchstreet; defines technical integration designs and tax calculation behavior; and leads delivery, testing, cutover, governance, compliance, and stakeholder communication. It also coordinates with third-party system integrators, software vendors, technical teams, and business stakeholders to deliver implementations from requirements through go-live.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 7 years of product management experience in enterprise technology.
  • At least 3 years leading ERP, procurement, or finance system integrations.
  • Hands-on product management experience involving Vertex O Series indirect tax engine implementations, including sales/use tax, VAT/GST determination, and tax content updates.
  • Experience managing integration deliverables between procurement platforms such as Coupa or Birchstreet and a tax engine.
  • Knowledge of integration concepts such as REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and SFTP batch processing, as well as data mapping and error-handling workflows.
  • Extensive experience managing Integrated System Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), end-to-end reconciliation, cutover runbooks, and hypercare support models.
  • Experience holding third-party system integrators, software vendors, and cross-functional technical teams accountable to delivery milestones and SLAs.
  • Record of delivering complex, cross-functional integration programs from requirements through go-live in an agile environment using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar.
  • Strong ownership and accountability in ambiguous, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
  • Structured problem-solving skills and sound risk judgment.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, SAFe, Agile, or ITIL v4 certification.
  • Direct experience implementing Vertex O Series or Vertex Cloud with Coupa.
  • Experience with global tax requirements, including VAT, GST, and withholding tax.
  • Background in process optimization, lean operations, and procurement transformations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision and multi-release roadmap for tax integration across Coupa P2P, Coupa S2C, and Birchstreet.
  • Prioritize the backlog against compliance requirements, technical dependencies, financial impact, and platform constraints.
  • Define integration architecture and data flows between Coupa, Birchstreet, Vertex O Series or Vertex Cloud, middleware, and the ERP.
  • Specify API requirements, field mappings, authentication, error handling, retry logic, and idempotency for real-time and batch tax calls.
  • Own technical requirements for master data, including ship-to/ship-from, product and commodity tax codes, supplier tax attributes, exemption certificates, and chart-of-accounts mappings.
  • Define tax calculation behavior at requisition, purchase order, receipt, invoice, credit memo, and expense stages, including tax variances, tolerance handling, and supplier-charged versus self-assessed use tax.
  • Define non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, latency, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
  • Partner with architects on security, data privacy, and sandbox, UAT, and production environment strategy.
  • Write epics, user stories, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria; lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps, Coupa and Birchstreet administrators, Vertex consultants, and implementation partners.
  • Drive integration, regression, performance, and end-to-end testing of tax scenarios across jurisdictions, using automation where possible.
  • Lead UAT with Tax, AP, and Procurement; manage cutover, data migration, and hypercare for go-lives across entities and countries.
  • Troubleshoot integration defects and production incidents, conducting root-cause analysis using logs, payloads, and tax determination results.
  • Ensure tax determinations, overrides, and audit logs are traceable to support SOX, internal audit, and tax audit requirements.
  • Define observability and KPIs, including tax calculation accuracy, API success rates, exception volumes, override rates, and processing latency.
  • Track Vertex, Coupa, and Birchstreet releases and regulatory changes, and plan upgrades and regression impacts.
  • Translate between technical and non-technical audiences, including Tax, Procurement, AP, Finance, and executive sponsors.
  • Communicate status, risks, and decisions to operating committees and senior leadership.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement, communication, and training plans, and partner with change management teams to drive adoption across global business units.
