8am
•$160,000 - $200,000

About The Position

8am is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own mobile product strategy across its brands and define what its existing mobile apps should become. The role will uncover the needs of solo and small professional firms, determine which experiences to fix, rebuild, consolidate, or retire, and build a focused, AI-native mobile team. Mobile is a core surface for 8am IQ, the company’s AI platform, and this role will bring 8am IQ and simple payment experiences to customers across products including MyCase, CasePeer, LawPay, and Docketwise. This hands-on position is part of the AI Platforms team and leads a small squad of two engineers. The Product Manager will prototype ideas using AI tools, test them with customers, and guide delivery through small scopes, fast cycles, and frequent releases. The role owns mobile app quality and release health and works closely with AI Platform, Payments, product teams, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and company leadership. The initial milestones include speaking with dozens of customers and auditing current apps in the first 30 days; developing a mobile strategy and customer-tested prototypes ready for engineering within 90 days; and shipping meaningful improvements and establishing a clear direction for mobile within six months. The position reports to the VP, Product, AI Platforms. Candidates must be based in the U.S. and able to work with customers during U.S. business hours.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, including at least 3 years owning a native iOS/Android or cross-platform mobile app in market.
  • A track record of taking a product from 0 to 1 or turning around an underinvested product with measurable results.
  • Ability to build working prototypes personally using AI coding tools, design tools, or code and test ideas with customers.
  • Strong product design sense and comfort doing much of one’s own UX work, with support from a shared design team.
  • Strong customer discovery skills, including regular customer conversations and translating qualitative and quantitative signals into decisions.
  • Experience shipping AI-powered features and practical knowledge of LLMs, agents, and evaluations, including when AI adds value or complexity.
  • Fluency with mobile metrics and tooling, including product analytics, crash reporting, App Store and Google Play release management, and experimentation.
  • Comfort owning scope end to end on a very small team, with a bias toward shipping.
  • Based in the U.S. and able to work with customers during U.S. business hours.
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.

Nice To Haves

  • Mobile payments experience, such as tap to pay, card-present payments, or digital wallets.
  • Experience in legal tech, accounting, fintech, or other regulated, high-trust professional services.
  • A background in product design or front-end engineering.
  • Experience building agentic or conversational AI experiences on mobile.
  • Experience serving small businesses and solo professionals, including product-led growth.

Responsibilities

  • Own mobile product strategy across 8am’s brands, deciding what to fix, rebuild, consolidate, or retire in existing apps and where new experiences are warranted.
  • Spend at least four hours per week with customers through interviews, on-site visits, call reviews, NPS data, and support data; use the findings to identify mobile customer needs.
  • Define the mobile jobs and workflows to support for solo and small firms, including payments, case and client updates, time and document capture, and actions based on 8am IQ.
  • Build the business case and define mobile success metrics tied to retention, payments volume, and continued product activation.
  • Create prototypes using AI tools and test them with customers before engineering begins implementation.
  • Lead a two-engineer squad using small scopes, fast cycles, and frequent releases.
  • Partner with the AI Platform team to bring 8am IQ agents and tools to mobile across products, including appropriate permissions and audit trails.
  • Partner with the Payments team to deliver mobile payment experiences, such as tap to pay, across 8am products.
  • Own app quality and release health, including App Store and Google Play releases, ratings and reviews, crash and performance metrics, and mobile analytics.
  • Work with Product Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to launch and message products and drive adoption.
  • Align with the MyCase, CasePeer, LawPay, and Docketwise product teams so mobile supports each brand’s core workflows without duplicating work.
  • Communicate strategy and progress to leadership and the wider company, preferably through live demos.

  • Virtual and in-person team-building events, quarterly award recognition, and a peer-to-peer appreciation platform.
