About The Position

As a Senior Product Manager on the Risk team within Coinbase’s Consumer & Business group, this role owns the product strategy and roadmap for detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, account takeover, and scam risk across the platform. The team builds products and risk controls to protect customers and assets. The role partners with Engineering, Data Science, and Risk Analytics to deliver products that address evolving threats while maintaining a fast, low-friction customer experience. Coinbase is remote-first, but not remote-only. Employees are expected to gather quarterly for in-person working sessions called “surges.” Base salary varies by location and ranges from $207,485 to $244,100 USD annually, excluding equity and bonus. Total compensation may also include equity, bonus eligibility, and medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits.

Requirements

At least 7 years of product management experience, including at least 3 years focused on risk, fraud, trust and safety, or payments in a consumer fintech or e-commerce environment.
Track record of shipping risk or fraud products that measurably reduced loss rates, improved detection precision, or scaled risk controls across multiple product surfaces.
Fluency in data-driven decision-making, including defining metrics, running experiments, and interpreting machine-learning model performance to inform product direction.
Experience partnering with Engineering and Data Science teams to build and iterate on real-time risk systems, rules engines, or machine-learning-powered detection pipelines.
Ability to communicate complex risk trade-offs to senior leadership and translate technical fraud concepts into clear business-impact narratives.
Responsible use of generative AI, maintaining human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Responsibilities

Own the product roadmap, vision, priorities, and success metrics for one or more risk domains, such as account takeover prevention, scam detection, or payment fraud.
Drive cross-functional execution with Engineering, Data Science, and Design to deliver risk products from concept through launch, balancing speed, coverage, and user experience.
Partner with Risk Analytics and machine-learning teams to translate fraud signals, model outputs, and emerging threat patterns into product requirements and control strategies.
Lead experimentation and measurement of risk interventions, using data to assess effects on fraud rates, false-positive rates, and customer friction.
Shape long-term risk product strategy by analyzing industry trends, regulatory shifts, and crypto-specific threat vectors.
